Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford has warned her social media followers of an account who is impersonating her, asking them to report any ‘strange messages’ they receive from the imposter.
The 24-year-old’s warning comes just a week after she appeared to confirm she had lost her job at Debenhams after the department chain store fell into administration.
In a post shared on her Instagram Story, Sophie – who is best-known for appearing on Gogglebox alongside her brother, Pete Sandiford – apologised to anyone who had received messages from an account pretending to be her.

‘Sorry if anyone has been receiving messages from a fake account this evening,’ she wrote.
Sophie added that while she believes the account has since been removed from the social media platform, people should report and block messages if they believe they seem suspicious.
‘Thankfully I think the account has been taken down,’ she said.
In the screenshot of the Instagram post shared by the Express, Sophie added: ‘If you do receive any strange messages please report and block. Thank you, Soph.’
A week ago, Sophie shared a picture on Instagram of herself and a colleague standing outside a Debenhams store, where they both worked.
‘We might be going but we are going with a smile,’ she wrote in the caption.
In the comments underneath, several people shared messages of support for Sophie and her coworkers at the retail store.
‘Hate what’s happening to the high street. All the best and good luck,’ one person wrote.
‘So sorry for everyone being made redundant,’ another added.
Debenhams is set to be liquidated in 2021 after rescue talks with JD Sports fell through, resulting in approximately 12,000 job losses and the closure of its 124 stores.
Earlier this month, crowds swarmed Debenhams stores in an effort to get their hands on reduced products, while more than a million people tried to access the website, causing it to crash.
Gogglebox next airs on Friday 11 December at 9pm on Channel 4.
