The stars of Gogglebox couldn’t handle the suspense as they watched Line of Duty’s Ryan Pilkington (Gregory Piper) and Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) turn their guns on each other, with the families screaming at their tellies as they watched the drama unfold.
At the end of the most recent episode of series six of the BBC’s Line of Duty, Kate agreed to meet the suspicious Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald) in a secluded car park, alerting AC-12’s Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) as to her location.
After Vicky greeted Jo, asking why they were meeting at this particular location, Ryan emerged from the shadows, pointing his gun at Kate before she alerted him that he’s been under surveillance.
After a tense stand-off between the two, the episode ended on a tense cliffhanger, with gunshots heard as the scene cut to black.
Line of Duty fans were on the edge of their seats, as were the stars of Gogglebox when they reacted to the exchange on the latest episode of the Channel 4 programme.
When Kate called Ryan a ‘little boy’, Gogglebox’s Pete Sandiford issued a word of warning, stating: ‘Don’t be saying that to him, you’re just going to wind him up even more!’

Then as Ryan and Kate pointed their guns at each other, Paige Deville and her mum Sally Hayward gasped in horror.
As Izzi Warner screamed at Kate to shoot Ryan, her sister Ellie Warner added: ‘Kate, f***ing shoot him or be shot!’
Jenny Newby, who’s been following every Line of Duty development with her handy notebook, angrily yelled: ‘Shoot the b*d!’
At the end, when the sound of gunshots rang out, the Gogglebox cast looked stunned.

‘Who’s been shot?!’ Pete asked, a shocked look on his face, as Ellie let out an anxious breath.
Gogglebox viewers were absolutely loving seeing how their reactions would play out.
‘Watching #gogglebox peeps watching the ending of #LineOfDuty EP 5 was the best bit of telly in a long time,’ one person tweeted.
‘Watching #LineOfDuty is brilliant – but watching the #Gogglebox crew watch #LineOfDuty is something else!,’ another remarked.
It’s been speculated that a scene in series three may have predicted Kate’s fate while facing Ryan.
What’s more, Amazon virtual assistant Alexa has even hastened a guess as to the conclusion of the scene. We’ll just have to wait until Sunday to find out if she’s right!
Gogglebox returns next Friday at 9pm on Channel 4 and Line of Duty returns on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
