Gogglebox star Jenny Newby has shared a brilliant and cheeky birthday tribute to her co-star and best pal Lee Riley, while also revealing that filming on the new series is kicking off soon.

In an Instagram post on their shared profile, the 64-year-old published two pictures of Lee celebrating his special day.

Fans were given a little peek at what happens on their iconic sofa when the cameras aren’t rolling, as Lee could be seen blow out candles on a plate of cupcakes.

The pair then sat back and relaxed on the couch while wearing party hats and sipping their drinks from birthday cups.

Jenny wrote a cheeky caption that read: ‘Wishing this tw*t a happy 53rd birthday’.

Many of their fans flooded the comments to also wish Lee the best on his birthday.

Among their Gogglebox co-stars spotted in the comments, Shirley and Dave Griffiths were among the first to respond, writing: ‘Happy birthday Lee mate, have a good one love dave and Shirley.’

Stephen Webb also wrote: ‘Happy birthday my lovely looking forward to another fabulous day of celebrating.’

Daniel Lustig then added: ‘Happy birthday Lee xx’ while Ellie Warner wrote: ‘Awww happy birthday Lee xxx’

Jenny also gave an update on her friend and their upcoming filming schedule together adding in the caption: ‘Have a wonderful last few day in Cyprus see you Friday for filming.’

The new series of the hit Channel 4 show is due back on-screens this month.

Shirley and Dave also appeared to tease the upcoming run last week when they shared a photo of their sofa on Instagram without any caption.
