Good Morning Britain presenter Sean Fletcher has revealed he’s tested positive for Covid – and it was quite a chaotic revelation.

The TV star shared the news with his Instagram followers on Sunday afternoon with the all-familiar photo of his positive Covid test.

He also included photos of a rather bloody scene after accidentally cutting his finger while making breakfast. In the images, Sean’s finger is seen wrapped up in a plaster while a tissue is almost completely covered in blood.

The presenter, 47, explained in the caption: ‘Had quite a morning. A positive Lateral Flow Test backed up by a positive PCR test. Went downstairs for breakfast and cut my finger with a bread knife. Couldn’t stop it bleeding.’

Referring to his other presenting duties on BBC’s Sunday Morning Live, he continued: ‘Patched myself up in time for an appearance on #SundayMorningLive via zoom with #AdrianChiles covering for me, alongside @jacquijosephdesigns, on a programme that also featured my previous co-presenters @sallysmack @nina.wadia and @revkatebottley, as well as @raetheduke @thekingdomchoir @henry.bonsu @drnighatarif among others.’

He added: ‘Thanks for stepping in Adrian. And thanks to everyone for watching this series. See you for another series in the summer.’

Sean received well wishes from his famous followers including This Morning’s Dr Zoe Williams, who wrote: ‘Oh noooooo! Hope the Covid is a mild case Sean – just coming out the other end here x.’

Former Big Breakfast host Gaby Roslin commented: ‘No! Wish you better lovely 😘.’

TV and radio presenter Anita Rani said: ‘Get well soon x.’

Sean will have to self isolate for 10 days meaning he might be appearing on your GMB screens virtually in the coming days.

The Omicron variant of Covid continues to rapidly spread across the nation, with the UK recording another surge of cases on Sunday.

Cases have been around an unprecedented 90,000 mark for three consecutive days – but dropped to 82,886 yesterday.
