Gordon Ramsay doesn’t ‘give a f***’ about losing Lord Alan Sugar as ‘customer’ ahead of new Apprentice-style series Future Food Stars

Twelve contenders, one investment, and a competition that could see a business pipe dream become a reality.

No, we’re not talking about The Apprentice.

Gordon Ramsay is on the hunt for the UK’s most exciting food and drink businesses and looking for the next generation Food Star to invest in.

The Michelin starred chef has hand-picked 12 of the nation’s best up-and-coming food and drink entrepreneurs to compete to earn his £150,000 investment.

He’ll set them up with a series of relentless challenges to prove they have the raw ingredients he needs to show they can succeed.

It all sounds a little familiar to our regular Thursday night TV schedule, which has now come to an end as Harpreet Kaur was crowned Lord Sugar’s newest business partner.

However, while the show may sound similar, Gordon is pretty certain his twist will be just the right amount of different – and he isn’t worried about upsetting Lord Sugar on the way.

He said: ‘It’s a food and drink, lifestyle business show.

‘So fingers crossed this is going to rub Alan Sugar’s feathers the wrong way.

‘I think I’ve lost a customer there.

‘Who gives a f***?’

He added: ‘All jokes apart, I’m a big fan of The Apprentice and obviously just that business-sense.’

His show aims to explore the difficulties many food and drinks businesses in the UK have faced in the past few years, and how difficult it had been to break into the market even before the pandemic.

‘It’s a food and drink business show with some great products, great characters, and a lot of challenges.’

Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars airs on Thursday 31 March on BBC One, with new episodes released weekly.
