The celebrity chef was seen crying as he watched his 19-year-old girl – who has been dating current boyfriend Seth Mack since November 2019 – perform an incredible Charleston for the judges during Saturday night’s show, and it’s made him realise he needs to work on his own skills for when she eventually ties the knot.
Appearing on ITV’s This Morning on Monday, he said: ‘I think any individual taking part in that live, you’re trying 45, 50 hours a week for a two minute stint.
‘I’ve got size 15 feet, so the chances of me doing a slow waltz with her – I’m gonna start practicing one day for her wedding.’
Although the pair have been seen dancing on TikTok, he insisted it’s not a sign of any talent on his part as he doesn’t get much chance to rehearse with the whole thing taken out of his hands.
‘That’s sort of coached by her, and then she doesn’t give me any chance to rehearse,’ he added.
And Gordon described his emotional display as ‘shocking’ after he was seen sobbing with pride as Tilly took to the ballroom floor over the weekend.
‘I was a mess,’ he admitted. ‘Shocking. But we got there though.’
The whole thing was utterly adorable, and he later shared a message on Instagram praising Tilly and her dancing partner Nikita Kuzmin.
‘What an amazing performance tonight @bbcstrictly lines are open @tillyramsay @nikita__kuzmin so proud well done,’ he wrote.
Gordon was in an emotional mood during the programme as Tilly received a standing ovation – and he later joked that there was a ‘bag’ of onions next to him prompting the tears.
He wasn’t the only one impressed, as Anton Du Beke said he ‘really, really enjoyed’ the routine, and his fellow judge Shirley Ballas hailed Tilly as a ‘powerhouse’.
It meant that the pair ended up joint top of the leaderboard with Dragons’ Den star Sara Davies and her partner Aljaz Skorjanec, as both pairs were given a score of 34.
Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday at 18.15 on BBC One.
