Great British Bake Off 2020: Lottie and Laura are BFFs and baked together recently

Great British Bake Off contestants Laura and Lottie’s friendship outside of the Channel 4 series is everything.

Last night, Lottie was eliminated from the competition during 80s Week after failing to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood with her retro ice cream cake.

Although it was a close call between the pair over who was sent home, there’s absolutely zero bad blood, and they recently got together for a spot of dinner and baking.

Honestly, friendship goals.

Last week, Lottie shared a picture of the duo together, alongside a photo of a chocolate tart they made – which has had us drooling for days.

‘Me and pastry queen @laura.adlington made a chocolate hazelnut tart filled with blackberry curd and topped with a rich chocolate ganache,’ she captioned the post.

‘It didn’t set. I don’t mind.’

Meanwhile, Laura uploaded a bunch of photos of the pair hanging out together.

‘Spent the weekend with @lottiegotcake making a tart that didn’t set (?) and eating copious amounts of pasta #gbbo  #friendsforever #greatbritishbakingshow,’ she captioned the snaps.

Lottie was sent home during last night’s episode of Bake Off, although Laura suffered a disaster with her ice cream cake in the showstopper round.

After learning she’d been spared another week, Laura told the cameras: ‘I think mixed emotions definitely right now. Really happy I got through, but Lottie is a really good friend.’

Speaking to the cameras after her exit, Lottie said: ‘It’s just like a massive relief, but obviously, I’m gutted that I’m not going to be with everyone every day.’

She later added: ‘I’m so chuffed with myself. Maybe I can bake.’

Great British Bake Off continues on Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
