After months of hard graft inside the tent, the finalists have been confirmed for this year’s Great British Bake Off.
In Tuesday’s hard-fought semi-final, the bakers faced their biggest challenges yet in patisserie week, tasked with creating a series of delicate and refined bakes.
The four contestants produced savarin desserts in the Signature challenge, before producing ornate danish cornucopia cakes in the technical, and crafting inspired cube cakes in the Showstopper.
The semi-final was filmed during the summer heatwave, which made the challenges extra difficult, but who impressed and whose time was up?
Who is in the Great British Bake Off final?
After failing to impress with their showstopper, it was Hermine who lost her place in the competition at the final hurdle.
That means that Dave, Peter and Laura are all into this year’s final.
Peter particularly impressed with his savarins, receiving a handshake from Paul Hollywood on Tuesday’s show and winning Star Baker.
However, all of the bakers showed their talents in the tent, proving that this is one of the most competitive years in the Bake Off tent.
Prue Leith even went as far as saying the remaining bakers are ‘as good as we’ve ever had’ on the show.
Great British Bake Off continues Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
