Ever since last week’s Great British Bake Off, fans have been expressing concern over Noel Fielding’s absence, questioning whether he will be back to entertain the contestants on the latest episode of the Channel 4 show for week 6.

During German Week, which saw Giuseppe be named Star Baker for the second time and Freya be sent home, Noel was presenting as usual alongside co-host Matt Lucas and judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith for the first two challenges.

However, on the second day, when the bakers were tasked with creating impressive showstopper yeast cakes, Noel was nowhere to be seen.

Matt explained to the bakers that Noel was ‘feeling a little under the weather’ as the programme continued.

With no further explanation on his absence offered, several viewers asked whether Noel was ok, with one tweeting that they ‘couldn’t focus’ on the showstoppers due to their concern.

At the end of last week’s episode, there was a short teaser for the following episode of Bake Off.

While Matt briefly appeared in the clip, Noel did not.

Nonetheless, his return on Bake Off appears to have been hinted ahead of tonight’s programme.

The official Twitter account for Bake Off shared a picture of Paul, Prue, Noel and Matt to mark the return of Pastry Week, alongside the caption: ‘The choux must go on!’

What’s more, the account also posted a gif of Noel gnashing his teeth, writing in the tweet: ‘When your stomach hears it’s Pastry Week on Bake Off and sends a signal to your brain…’

Noel also seemed to confirm he’d be back on the tent in a post on his Instagram Story reminding viewers to tune in.

Our fingers are crossed that Noel and his impeccably charming vibes will indeed be making a welcome return on tonight’s show.

What week is it on Bake Off?

This week on Bake Off is the very exciting – and possibly treacherous – Pastry Week.

As any avid Bake Off fan will know, the last thing any baker in the tent ever wants is for Paul and Prue to spot a soggy bottom on their culinary creations.

However, Paul and Prue will undoubtedly have their eyes peeled for the slightest mishap, leaving absolutely no room for error as the remaining seven contestants strive to impress.

The Great British Bake Off returns tonight at 8pm on Channel 4 and is available to watch on All 4.
