You wouldn’t normally associate his demeanour in the Great British Bake Off tent with festive cheer, but Paul Hollywood has been doing his best to get fans in the mood for Christmas.
The judge shared a picture of himself in full Santa costume ahead of the Bake Off’s festive special, and he looks born to play the part of Saint Nick.
Paul looked unrecognisable in the costume, donning a full beard and wig to go with his red Santa outfit. A strong look.
The presenter shared the picture on Instagram alongside a picture of himself in normal clothes, writing: ‘Me on November 30th, me on December 1st.’
Former Bake Off favourite Rahul Mandal was one of the fans who reacted to the post, writing: ‘I almost thought it wasn’t you! You look so real as Father Christmas!’
It comes in the lead up to the show’s Christmas special, which will see stars from years gone back head back to the Bake Off tent.
Paul will be there to welcome them back. Hopefully he won’t be destroying any more showstoppers by mistake this time around.
He’ll be joined by Jamie Finn and Rosie Brandreth-Poynter from 2019, Ruby Bhogal from 2018 and James Hillery from the 2017 series.
One person who won’t be taking part though is Noel Fielding, who was on paternity leave during the time of filming.
This year’s Bake Off champion was crowned last week, with 20-year-old student Peter Sawkins beating Dave Friday and Laura Adlington in the final.
The youngest ever winner of the competition said: ‘I can’t quite believe that I’m here. This is gonna be a really huge chapter in my life, and what a way for it to end.’
Great British Bake Off is available to watch now on All4.
