Great British Bake Off producers have reportedly beefed up security for their contestants and judges to avoid fans accessing the set.
Filming has started with judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood and hosts Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding. Everyone from the show is currently in a Covid-safe bubble as they try to ensure filming of the new series goes without a hitch.
Channel 4 bosses have increased security in an attempt to keep fans out of the iconic tent, which is located in the grounds of the Down Hall Hotel in Hertfordshire.
A source told The Sun: ‘The last thing the producers want is anything that could risk filming being held up or cancelled completely.
‘They’re not taking any chances when it comes to protecting the show. Even arranging all the tents, huts and other temporary structures to help create a perimeter that is almost impossible to breach.’
The famous tent being breached would be devastating, as Bake Off is the most-watched show on Channel 4. Last year alone, 10.4 million viewers tuned in to see the final.

The source also revealed that the Christmas Special, the celebrity specials and Junior Bake Off ‘in one batch’ at Down Hall Hotel.
They added: ‘So there’s a lot at stake, and the message is: Please keep away or face being turned away.’
Channel 4 successfully filmed a new series of Bake Off, a Celebrity Bake Off and Christmas specials in 2020 thanks to their Covid-safe filming conditions.
Host Matt previously said on Lorraine: ‘We’re starting (filming) very soon. And like last year we’re going into a bubble.
‘All self-isolating and getting tested. And then we’re going into a Covid-free bubble, so we can all taste each other’s bakes and there can be handshakes and all sorts.’
The Great British Bake Off is expected to return later this summer on Channel 4.
