As summer closes and the nights draw in, it’s common knowledge the change of seasons means only one thing: it’s time for Great British Bake Off.
While there’s still no news on an official return date, Paul Hollywood shared a photo alongside fellow judge Prue Leith as well as hosts Noel Fielding and Matt Lucas.
As we wait with baited breath for the 2021 series, Paul has finally promised: ‘Bake Off is back soon …..’
Naturally, fans are gagging for new episodes, including 2018 winner Rahul Mandal who commented on the post: ‘I am waiting for this for so long…not only me everyone in the UK as well as everyone across the pond!! Can’t wait! Good luck to all the lovely bakers!’
Fellow champion Nancy Birtwhistle, who won the 2015 series, added: ‘I was only thinking – the nights are drawing in, autumn almost here but that means Bake Off will be back.
‘Looking forward to meeting a new set of bakers and seeing the male judge not looking a day older.’
‘Eeeek! Can’t wait to meet the new bakers!’ shrieked last year’s finalist Laura Adlington.
While filming the latest Great British Bake Off, the latest batch of contestants once again had to form a Covid-safe bubble which sounded like an absolute hoot.
Apparently those fortunate enough to be in said bubble were treated to an ‘indie festival’ hosted by Noel and his girlfriend Lliana Bird, with the judges said to be propping up the bar.
Fellow presenter Matt Lucas, 47, hosted a quiz, while the publication also reports that judges Paul Hollywood, 55, and Prue Leith, 81, joined staff at the bar nightly.
A source told The Sun: ‘Some nights we all went to the hotel bar and there was music playing and we carried on partying.’
Last year’s Bake Off was won by Peter Sawkins, the youngest ever champion of the culinary contest.
Great British Bake Off is expected to return to Channel 4 this autumn.
