Great British Bake Off star Lottie says she is currently out of work due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Times are hard for Lottie as she is unable to continue her job as a pantomime producer with the health crisis forcing theatre venues to close.

However she is remaining hopeful and plans to organise something that can be viewed online.

Speaking to Channel 4 after her exit from Bake Off on Tuesday night, Lottie said: ‘I am not sure what is going to happen to pantos this year.

‘I am unemployed at the moment as a producer, but my colleague and I are now thinking of something innovative to put on this Christmas, possibly streaming something.

‘We are trying to adapt to the new climate, as the theatre industry is struggling.’

The 31-year-old, who became a fan favourite with her wit and banter with fellow contestant Mark, struggled during 80s week, ending with a lacklustre ice cream cake that failed to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith.

‘It’s just like a massive relief, but obviously, I’m gutted that I’m not being with everyone every day,’ an emotional Lottie said in the episode.

‘I cannot believe the stuff I have done. I got a handshake, I got a star baker.’

She later added: ‘I’m so chuffed with myself. Maybe I can bake.’

A letter from the baker urged people to apply to be on Bake Off as it’s such an incredible experience.

‘I came out of the tent feeling more confident in my baking skills than I ever thought possible and that was all down to the tireless encouragement and coaching from the other bakers, judges, presenters and crew.

‘I love you all so very much. To anyone thinking of applying: DO IT!’

Great British Bake Off is, in fact, taking applications for the 2021 series if there are any baking hopefuls wanting to get involved next year.

The Great British Bake Off continues Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
