Denise Van Outen was crowned winner of The Great British Sewing Bee: Celebrity Christmas Special, proving there is nothing she can’t turn her hand to.
The TV presenter went up against Dr Ranj Singh, Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas and comedian Sara Pascoe for the festive edition of the competition.
They were tasked with whipping up festive pyjama bottoms, a fancy dress outfit for a dog, and a made-to-measure Christmas Day dress for the BBC competition.
The 46-year-old delighted judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant with her festive creations, including some very, very comfy looking sprout PJs.
Side note: We would totally rock those.
It was left to Patrick to confirm the news, unveiling Denise’s brown Christmas pudding outfit while Esme handed her a sparkly trophy.
‘Thank you so, so much for everything, it’s been amazing,’ she said of the win. ‘I’m so proud and so happy.
‘I am so happy that I won. I feel that Nanny Mary would be very proud of me up there in heaven, looking down saying, “Go on girl, you did it!”’
‘Denise’s dress absolutely shouted Christmas, it was so fun,’ Patrick praised.
‘All of our sewers today delivered some fabulous made-to-measures, it really felt like a festive celebration.
‘They will have learned so much,’ Esme agreed. ‘I’m just absolutely hoping they take up sewing.’
Taking to Instagram, Denise gave us all a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes action from the competition, showing off her creations.
‘I won! Loved being part of the Christmas edition of @britishsewingbee,’ she captioned the post.
