In a trailer for episode 4, Happy Valley star James Norton’s character Tommy Lee Royce gets a drastic makeover.
The psychopath is presently imprisoned in Sheffield for the murder of policeman Kirsten McAskill (Sophie Rundle) and the kidnapping of Ann Gallagher (Charlie Murphy).
Despite this, the criminal has managed to intervene in the life of Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) through communicating with her grandson Ryan (Rhys Connah).
The kid has been visiting his father in jail with Clare (Siobahn Finneran) and Neil (Con O’Neill) for the past year, much to the sergeant’s chagrin.
Tommy is a key suspect in the murder of Gary Gaggowski, whose remains were discovered washed up in a reservoir in episode one.
Gaggowski is suspected to have been shot eight years ago, and a necklace belonging to Tommy was discovered near his body, tying the criminal to his killing.
After being questioned by police, Tommy said that he had been recruited by a local gang to terrify Gaggowski, but he denied killing him or knowing that his death was the original goal.
Tommy will stand trial for Gaggowki’s murder in the upcoming episode of Sally Wainwright’s drama, according to fresh images provided by the BBC.
Tommy, who had long hair and a dishevelled beard, is shown soliciting the assistance of an inmate to cut off his hair and opt for a clean shave.

Will the new sophisticated look sway the jury’s opinion of the horrible psychopath?
The 37-year-old actor has previously commented about Tommy’s scruffy style on the Graham Norton Show, adding that Happy Valley creator Sally Wainwright ‘know the look she wants for him, and it is bold’.
‘I loved having long hair – it was fun, and I found myself hanging out in the mousse section of Boots. I also have a weird number of clips of me and “Pantene” moments!’ he added.
He also remarked on playing Tommy again, calling him as a “strange faraway friend.”
The McMafia star continued: ‘He is a despicable monster, but he became really enticing, a sort of weird distant friend that you love seeing. I loved playing him and I miss him and the show.’
Happy Valley continues on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
