*Spoilers for Happy Valley series 3, episode 5*
After three seasons, next Sunday’s special, extended episode of Happy Valley will conclude the series and give viewers some additional nail-biting excitement.
In order to properly conclude everything, the sixth and last episode of the final season will run for 70 minutes instead of the usual hour, with no-nonsense officer Catherine Cawood (Sarah Lancashire) and company.
Once again following Catherine and her enemy, felon Tommy Lee Royce (James Norton), who is the father of Catherine’s grandson Ryan, the hit TV drama returned on New Year’s Day after a seven-year hiatus (Rhys Connah).
The cast has reportedly recorded many different finales for the TV drama, so viewers still don’t know for sure how the exciting series will conclude.
Actor Amit Shah, who plays drug dealer pharmacist Faisal, admitted that, despite filming several sequences, he still has no idea how his character’s arc concludes.

‘I still don’t know how it all ends up for him because we filmed the final scenes in various different ways,’ he told the Obsessed with… Happy Valley podcast.
Lancashire and Norton were handed the finale scripts in advance and were sworn to secrecy until all of the other cast members had also read it.
‘Everyone I’ve spoken to who has read it is like, “phew”,’ Norton told the BBC of his reaction to the final episode.
‘It’s just great. It’s Sally [Wainwright, writer] letting rip in her wonderful way. Going against expectation, but also giving you what you want. I loved reading it.’
He added: ‘There’s also a little bit of melancholy tinge there because it’s the end of a very significant chapter for everyone.’

In the episode that aired on Sunday, Tommy managed to avoid capture by the police and was hiding out somewhere, while Catherine, Clare (Siobhan Finneran), and Neil (Con O’Neill) hid away in a friend’s house.
Despite hearing Ann Gallagher’s fiery monologue about her ordeal as a victim and police officer, Ryan still appears unwilling to think his father is a monster, exploring the thought of leaving to Spain with him.
Even though criminal mastermind and collaborator Darius Knezevic (Alec Secareanu) has warned Tommy not to kill Catherine, Tommy has made it plain that he intends to do so anyhow.
Happy Valley concludes at 9pm on BBC One on Sunday.
