During Wednesday’s episode of the ITV daytime show, Holly stated that she will be departing for Buckingham Palace, allowing Phillip to take over.
‘I put on my posh clothes today because I am going to Buckingham Palace later this afternoon and there the King will be, and we will get to introduce the award winners to the King so he can say well done,’ she said.
‘So you’re off midday-ish, and I’m manning the fort,’ Phillip said.
Holly implored co-star Phil to ‘be nice’ and gave him a peck on the cheek and an embrace as she was about to leave.
The daily couple put on a united face as they returned to the show this week, despite rumours of a ‘fallout’ between them.

Holly, 41, allegedly considered leaving This Morning because she is hard to cope with the circumstances.
According to an insider, she feels ‘stuck’ because she enjoys her job and does not want to quit.
But they told The Mirror she feels that ‘by removing herself from the situation she could protect herself better.’
Elsewhere, Phil has become ‘increasingly withdrawn’ following the speculation.
A source told the Mirror: ‘[He is] almost a shell of himself. He seems down and spends a lot of time in his dressing room. We’re worried about him.’
Despite the mounting claims Phil appeared to downplay rumoursof drama and heaped praise on Holly in a statement shared with the Sun last week.
‘As I have said before, Holly is my rock,’ he said. ‘We’re the best of friends – as always, she is an incredible support on screen, behind the scenes and on the phone.
‘Holly has always been there for me, through thick and thin. And I’ve been there for her.
‘The last few weeks haven’t been easy for either of us.’
Holly and Phil have co-hosted This Morning for 14 years.
They originally appeared on the famous show together in 2009 and have since gone on to become one of the most popular duos on British television.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
