Holly Willoughby has admitted she’s gutted after being forced to cancel her 40th birthday party due to lockdown.
The This Morning presenter turns 40 on February 10, and was due to throw a huge bash tomorrow evening for her family and friends to mark the occasion.
Unfortunately, coronavirus got in the way, and so she’s been forced to become the latest person to have a home birthday celebration with just her husband Dan, and their three children.
Ahead of a segment on tips for a lockdown birthday, Holly told co-host Phillip Schofield: ‘You know, this is bittersweet for me, because next week it’s my big 4-0, and tomorrow night I would’ve been having a big birthday party that I had to cancel.
‘It’s obviously going to be looking a little bit different, and it’s fine. In the grand scheme of life, as long as I’ve got cake and a drink I’ll be fine.’
Phillip then tried to console her by giving her Wotsits. Which would work if it was us, to be fair.
Thankfully the This Morning are on hand to make sure that the occasion is as special as it can be, with plans for a huge cake to be delivered to the studio on the day.
Her girl squad – Emma Bunton, Nicole Appleton and Tamzin Outhwaite – will then join her for a boozy Zoom session.
She previously said: ‘I’m really looking forward to it.
‘My thirties have been all about the kids, bringing them up, keeping all these balls in the air, but now they’re getting older I can start focusing on things happening for me.’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
