Holly Willoughby sends Alison Hammond flowers on her first day hosting This Morning

Holly Willoughby sent Alison Hammond a beautiful bouquet of flowers on her first day of co-hosting This Morning.

Every week Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary will present the Friday instalment of the show, replacing regular hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

The dynamic duo got off to a cracking start as they were showered with praise from viewers.

Many took to social media to tell Alison and Dermot ‘what a joy’ it was to have them present the programme.

Once the excitement had calmed down, Alison shared a snap to Twitter of the flowers Holly had sent her to wish her luck.

Holly, who presents This Morning with Phillip Schofield between Monday and Thursday, obviously has great taste as she chose a gorgeous selection of pink and cream flowers.

The Big Brother star posted the picture with the simple caption: ‘Thanks @hollywills so kind’.

Alison’s followers we also quick to praise her for her hosting duties.

One tweeted: ‘You were brilliant today, you and Dermot were great together, you’re just so normal and find myself watching you with a smile on my face x.’

Another said: ‘You were great this morning Alison. Very professional but still being you, please don’t ever let that change.’

While one added: ‘You were fab!!..refreshing and uplifting. I think we all need an Alison in our life.’

Things weren’t all plain sailing for Alison’s first show, as the host accidentally put her foot in it when she asked Graham Norton about his dead dog.

Either way, it was brilliant!

This Morning airs daily at 10am on ITV.
