Holly Willoughby, the anchor of This Morning, is allegedly ready to receive a large salary hike as she prepares to return to the show.
The 42-year-old Wylde Moon founder has been enjoying her summer holiday, and Metro.co.uk knows she will return to the ITV programme on September 4.
According to rumours, Holly’s income will be increased from £700,000 to much to £1 million each year.
A source shared: ‘Holly’s pay deal is up for negotiation in a few months so they are putting together a lucrative package that will reflect her added responsibility without Phil, and they are prepared to go up to £1million a year.’
They added to The Sun: ‘Producers will splash the cash on showbiz guests, and exclusive human interest stories. Viewers can expect lots of glitz and glamour. But Holly will definitely be the jewel in their crown.’
Since Phillip Schofield, 61, resigned from ITV after confessing to lying about an affair with a runner, the Dancing on Ice host has been presenting with several co-hosts, including Josie Gibson and Dermot O’Leary.
Before it was revealed that employers had chosen against hiring a permanent replacement for the former Dancing On Ice host, people were demanding for Craig Doyle to fill his shoes.
Instead, it’s been reported that Holly will remain on the show indefinitely, joined by rotating co-presenters from the This Morning stable, with Steve Jones also joining the fold.
According to a source, Holly wants Alison Hammond to replace Phillip and become her permanent co-host.
ITV confirmed to Metro.co.uk that the Great British Bake Off judge will co-host the show alongside Holly when she returns in three weeks.
Off-screen, Alison and Holly are pals who have shared photos of themselves hanging out on Instagram.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV.
