This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby announced her new lifestyle platform rooted in spirituality, Wyle Moon, on Monday as she revealed she’d been inspired to try alternative therapies during her time in Australia for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

The 40-year-old, who has been a fixture on British television screens for more than 20 years, has previously worked on books and retail projects alongside her presenting work. Wylde Moon will see her deliver products and content around beauty, fashion, energy and healing, as well as interviews on her podcast.

Where and when did Holly get her big break though, and which programmes has she featured on over the years?

When did Holly Willoughby start her presenting career?

Holly began her television career working on two projects with the band S Club 7 in 2000, S Club TV on CITV, alongside Chronicles of Narnia actor Ben Barnes, and S Club 7: Artistic Differences.

In 2002, after securing an agent, she hopped over to the BBC and began her children’s TV career in earnest, presenting gameshows Xchange and X-perimental, before moving onto CBBC at the Fame Academy, which was the children’s version of the BBC talent show.

Things took off for her in 2004 when she re-joined CITV and worked with Stephen Mulhern on Saturday morning show Ministry of Mayhem, which then got renamed to Holly & Stephen’s Saturday Showdown in 2006 when the popular presenters started building a profile. She was also a brief replacement for Cat Deeley on CD:UK in 2005.

The professional made her move to primetime TV in 2006, when she was first paired up with Phillip Schofield for ITV’s Dancing On Ice. She also presented talent competition Grease Is the Word and Holly & Fearne Go Dating, with Fearne Cotton, in 2007, as well as two series of The Xtra Factor in 2008 and 2009.

In 2008, she also started work as a team captain on Celebrity Juice, where she remained for 23 series before leaving in May 2020.

When did Holly Willoughby join This Morning?

After the success of Phillip and Holly’s partnership on Dancing On Ice, Holly was invited to join him as co-presenter on This Morning in 2009, replacing Fern Britton. She and Phillip remain the hosts from Monday to Thursdays, with Fridays being presented by Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond as of January 2021.

The show has gone from strength to strength under Phillip and Holly, winning multiple National Television Awards, which are voted for by the public. The duo has also made cameos as themselves in Coronation Street in 2018 and American sports comedy drama Ted Lasso.

Since 2009, Holly has also presented charity telethon Text Santa on multiple occasions, the first two series of The Voice UK with Reggie Yates and a revived version of Cilla Back classic Surprise Surprise from 2012 to 2015.

In 2018, she returned to host the rebooted Dancing on Ice with Phillip, and also filled in for Ant McPartlin as she took a year off from presenting duties, flying to Australia to host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! with Declan Donnelly.

What else does Holly Willoughby do?

Alongside her presenting, Holly has been a brand ambassador for high street chain Marks & Spencer for several years, which has involved both modelling work and appearing in their Christmas advert.

She also had a partnership with online retailer Very for four years, has been an ambassador for Diet Coke and works as a current ambassador for Garnier.

The presenter has also dipped her toe into writing, producing a popular kids’ series, School for Stars, alongside her sister Kelly Willoughby, two parenting guides and a book with Fearne Cotton. She also has a book titled Reflections currently in the pipeline.

Will Holly Willoughby leave This Morning now she’s launched Wylde Moon?

The star has made no suggestion that she will be stepping down from This Morning for her new venture, Wylde Moon, which she has spent the last year working on. Holly has labelled the platform a place to ‘share the things I love’ and to celebrate people, brands and ‘all kinds of beauty’.

Explaining that now is the perfect time for her new platform, Holly said in the launch interview: ‘I’ve been wanting to do something different for a long time but timing is everything, so it had to feel right. I’ve reached that place in my life where I’m ready to do something like this.’
