I’m A Celebrity 2020 is now well underway – with the series having already brought us some genuinely terrified stars, a few emotional moments and Bushtucker trials that have kept us on the edge of our seats.

This year the intrepid celebrities have swapped the Australian jungle for a Welsh castle in the wake of coronavirus travel restrictions – but that hasn’t made it any less entertaining, with the likes of Shane Richie, Vernon Kay, Victoria Derbyshire and Beverley Callard among those duking it out for the series title.

It’s a pretty strong line-up this year to be sure – but just how much are the celebrities being paid to embrace camp life and chow down on deer’s testicles for our entertainment?

Here’s what you need to know about those Celeb pay packets…

How much are the I’m A Celebrity 2020 cast getting paid?

Although exact salaries have not been confirmed, it’s thought that Sir Mo Farah is nabbing the biggest pay packet this year, with the Olympian earning £300,000 for his time in camp.

‘It’s a massive coup for producers to get Mo for the series. Everyone’s really excited about the signing and think he’ll be a hit with viewers,’ a source told The Sun.

‘It’s the first time he’s agreed to do anything like this, so it’ll be a massive draw for sports fans.’

Vernon Kay is next in line this year, with reports suggesting he is earning £250,000 for the show – having finally agreed to take part after being approached on several occasions.

‘Everyone’s so pleased to have Vernon on board, he’s a lovely guy, full of down-to-earth northern charm and perfect for the show,’ a source told The Mirror at the time.

Other high earners are said to include Corrie legend Beverley Callard, who is reportedly pocketing £125,000 for taking part, and EastEnders actress Jessica Plummer, said to be earning £75,000 for her stint.

Meanwhile former Strictly star AJ Pritchard is said to be earning £50,000, as is Paralympian Hollie Arnold MBE.

While the other stars’ earnings have not been revealed, the highest pay packets are still lower than that reportedly taken home by 2019’s biggest earners Caitlyn Jenner and Ian Wright.

Caitlyn was said to have nabbed £500,000 for her time in the Australian jungle, while Ian wasn’t that far behind her with a pay packet of £400,000.

I’m A Celebrity continues on ITV tonight at 9pm.
