How to be in Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway’s virtual audience and enter competition

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway has returned to screens and it’s definitely a welcome distraction in the midst of the third lockdown in England.

The presenting duo, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, are back in business as they host celebrity guests, play ridiculous games, and leave fans in stitches with their hidden earpiece segments.

Of course, it’s not easy putting on a show during the coronavirus pandemic and the lads and ITV have had to make some changes.

Ant and Dec are in their own bubble, and the show has got a virtual audience (more on that in a moment).

However, it’s still provided a much-needed spot of normality for fans at home.

If you want to take part in the show, you can apply through ITV here.

Meanwhile, you can apply to be in the virtual audience through Applause Store.

Chatting about the new series and how important the audience is, Dec recently explained: ‘Such a lot of this show is about the audience. So we have researched ways, and are coming up with ways, to do a much more interactive virtual wall – more than any other show has done.’

He added to Digital Spy: ‘Our studio audience, for want of a better phrase – our audience on the night, on the virtual wall – will be an interactive part of the show.

‘This year’s series will have a very different feel to it because it’s normally a big kind of party vibe with the audience. This year, it’s going to be very different. We’ll still have our star guest announcer. But it’s a much more interactive virtual wall.’

On ITV.com, you can take part in a prize draw. It costs £2 to enter, with fans in the running to win £200,000. Lines close at 10am on April 12.

Meanwhile, TUI is running a competition in partnership with Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night takeaway, for an all-inclusive, seven-night holiday of your choosing. You can enter here.
