Smell that? It’s the sweet scent of turning heads and more bombshells than the number of baffling innuendos these Islanders are throwing about this series as Casa Amor returns to Love Island.
In tonight episode, a ‘cocktail party’ for the girls has been teased which appears to be a guise to get the ladies out of the main villa and into a neighbouring pile where several new lads will be waiting to impress.
Every year we’ve seen heartbreak and turmoil and tears when wandering eyes threaten to derail solid couplings, and will this year be any different?
We chatted with our resident body language maestro Judi James for her predictions on who might find their neck cranking that cranium in a whole new direction in the coming episodes amid the notorious game-changer.
She says: ‘[Casa Amor] has always thrown up shocks none of us saw coming, proving no-one is 100% immune to buckling under pressure when the bombshells come in to do their seductive stuff. Even last season’s winners Millie and Liam’ relationship nearly collapsed like a souffle when it was revealed Liam hadn’t been quite as innocent in there as he made out. So which islanders might be tempted to stray this year and which will be spending their nights sleeping outside on the loungers?’
Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti
With Ekin-Su’s reputation it would be easy to assume she’ll do the dirty on Davide again and grind the muscle-bound Italian’s face still further into the dust, Judi suggests.
She adds: ‘This woman is the undisputed queen of classic plot-lines though and that one might be too easy for her. Much more dramatic if she resists temptation to prove to Davide she is a changed woman and can be loyal when she’s in love and it’s Davide who walks back with another girl on his arm. He gets revenge and she gets loads of shouting and tear-sodden camera time.’
Paige Thorne and Jacques O’Neill
The body language expert explains: ‘Having spotted the fact that Paige is not quite the source of unconditional, ‘issue-free’ love that he imagined, Jacques’s head could easily be turned by a Casa girl who appears a mix of playful and totally tolerant.
‘There are hints in this guy’s body language that he’s not prepared to settle down and grow up yet and he could feel that pulling a stunner will raise his status amongst the boys. If he does he’ll be egging Luca on to do the same to make a point to Gemma.
‘Paige might look more loyal but she was taking a long time making her mind up about Jay a while ago so not 100% solid yet.’
Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page
Of course, it would be Andrew who would be the biggest shock if he was tempted as he really is putting in a good show of being the super-nice, trustworthy guy who is happy with his partner, Judi says.
‘It would be totally out of character for him to cheat but as we know, anything can happen in the Casa Amor,’ she notes as we nod our heads in agreement. ‘Tasha has had some ego problems recently and keep referring to the ‘sassy bad bitch Tasha’ that she seems to think is the best version of her. Will that Tasha appear and have her eye taken by a sexy bad boy? It’s highly likely.’
Gemma Owen and Luca Bish
What about our solid pair, Gemma and Luca?
Well, all bets are off if her dream man walks in.
Judi says: ‘Luca likes to be one of the lads and it’s clearly going to be like one huge stag do in the boys’ Casa. I can’t imagine any girl would trump Gemma in his eyes though unless a stunning catwalk model turns up in there with a famous footballer for a dad and a love of fish suppers.
‘He and Gemma do like a bit of brinkmanship in their relationship though so he might be caught flirting. Gemma did create doubts when she told Luca she would only be tempted if a guy arrived who was 100% her type. The producers must have been scouring social media ever since.
‘Will they have found her dream man? If so, all bets are off.’
Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope
‘No-one wants to see these two split up but I wish I felt more optimistic,’ Judi says, which echoes her sentiments in this week’s Love Or Lie Island.
‘Dami told Indiyah “I would never lie to you” on their date, which is always a worryingly unrealistic statement. They seem so perfect together but Dami is also great at egging the other guys on and they might turn the tables on him in Casa.
‘The pair have been so drama-free that I’d see Dami falling foul of the dodgy “mock kiss” photo that gets sent back to the girls every season, prompting a bit of drama with Indiyah although hopefully not a relationship-ending one.’
Love Island returns 9pm on ITV2.
