The Only Way Is Essex star Carol Wright has revealed that she treated herself to a breast uplift procedure for her 60th birthday.
During Tuesday’s edition of Loose Women, the mum-of-four, 61, told presenters Janet Street-Porter, Ruth Langsford, Coleen Nolan, and Judi Love that although she was ‘confident’ before getting it done, she wasn’t feeling that way on the inside.
‘I did feel confident, but I just wanted to be more comfortable because they seemed to overweigh my body,’ Carol said.
‘I didn’t opt for these great big boobs that I had. I had them when I was younger after having three children and they just emptied out and I thought, “I need a little implant.”
‘They lasted for so long and they were great, but all of a sudden I looked in the mirror one day and thought, “If I don’t go for this before I’m 60, I’ll never have the guts to do it.”‘
Looking at her before pictures, Carol explained that she thought her breasts were ‘too big,’ and ‘heavy’.
‘I just thought my mum’s posture wasn’t very good if I end up with the same posture and I was thinking about backache,’ she said.
The reality star also spoke about her concern after her son Mark Wright had a 12cm tumour removed from his armpit in December, which was thankfully later found to be benign and not cancerous.
However, once Mark’s lump started growing she revealed she stayed awake with worry the night before his operation.
‘Thank God it wasn’t and it was successful, and it’s been cut out. It wasn’t cancerous. It was very big though, very big,’ she said.
She confirmed that the TV personality is now ‘fine’ and his surgery scar has healed well.
Loose Women airs weekdays at 12:30pm on ITV and ITV Hub.
