Giovanna Fletcher has stepped in to defend the secret hand signals she sent to her children while on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
During her three-week stint in the castle, whenever hosts Ant and Dec would visit the campmates to reveal who was taking part in the trial – Giovanna would put her thumb to her nose and pull a funny face when her name was called – as a signal to her boys.
The author, who shares three children with McFly star Tom Fletcher, took to Instagram last night, where she admitted she knew the secret hand signals were noticed by viewers.
‘Yes… I know it was clocked,’ Giovanna penned.
‘I tried to find a discreet ‘signal’ with the boys so they knew I was thinking of them while I was away… They’re 6,4 and 2, so subtlety (like a little ear tug) wasn’t going to work on them.
‘We decided to go big. I can’t tell you how much it meant when @antanddec started doing it back! it’s certainly the little things that get you in there!!’
The 35-year-old went on to pay an adorable tribute to both Vernon and Jordan, who also made the final three.
‘I know, I know… I’ve become one of those people who harps on about the past, but I can’t help it,’ she continued.
‘This time one week ago I was sat around the @imacelebrity camp fire with @vernonkay and @jordannorth1 – two amazing men who made me laugh endlessly in the castle.
‘Vernon was thoughtful, hilarious and smart while Jordan filled us all with pride as he took on each new trial with more and more courage and bravery.
‘The whole experience would’ve been completely different if it weren’t for my superb campmates (who I love endlessly). Oh to be in a bubble in Wales!! Xxx.’
Giovanna wasn’t the only campmate to admit to sending a few cheeky signals home.
Corrie star Beverley Callard revealed that she would twiddle her hair as a way of communicating with her husband.
Former Family Fortunes host Vernon would touch his ear as a way of sending a signal to his wife Tess Daly.
