I’m A Celebrity 2020: Mario Falcone makes £9k after placing bet on sister Giovanna Fletcher

There was only one person more delighted than Giovanna Fletcher after her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! win last night – her brother Mario, who made £9,000 after placing a bet on her.

The reality star made a nice profit after his sister was named the first ever Queen of the Castle, beating Jordan North and Vernon Kay in Friday’s final.

Mario was so confident his sister would be crowned champion that he put £1,000 in her name at the odds of 9-1.

Speaking to The Sun before his win, he said: ‘I’ve got a cheeky bet on my sister – from day one – so I’ll be pretty happy. I got nine to one odds and I put £1,000 on.’

‘If she doesn’t she owes me grand,’ he added.

He’ll be one proud brother today, after Giovanna won over viewers to be crowned champion last night.

Writing on social media, Mario wrote: ‘Wow!!! I am so happy for her!!! My sister is the queen of the castle!!!!!!!’

Fans joined him in taking to Twitter to express their delight that the 35-year-old had won.

Husband Tom Fletcher was among those congratulating her, with the McFly musician writing: ‘YEEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!! Thanks SO much for voting and supporting @MrsGiFletcher from the very beginning. ‘She’s always been our queen but now she has a crown to prove it! Now I just have to explain to the kids that this doesn’t mean we’re moving into the castle…’

Author and podcaster Giovanna claimed she has ‘proved mums can do anything’ with the win on this year’s programme.

The 35-year-old added: ‘I don’t think it’s going to sink in for a little while. It’s the most bizarre thing ever.
