I’m A Celebrity 2020: Shane Richie reveals he was ill for three days after grim Bushtucker Trial

Shane Richie revealed he was sick for three days after taking part in a grim Bushtucker Trial on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!.

The former soap star was the ninth campmate to be eliminated from the castle, leaving Jordan North, Giovanna Fletcher and Vernon Kay to battle it out in the final.

Shane did his fair share of trials during the series, but the most gruesome one was the Sickening Stalls, which he did with the help of EastEnders star Jessica Plummer.

Hosts Ant and Dec even called it one of the funniest trials they’d ever seen.

Despite winning 12 stars for camp, the pair had to down an assortment of gruesome cocktails, ranging from blended fermented duck eggs and blended fish eyes.

Other drinks included blended sheep’s testicles, chicken’s feet, mealworms, pig’s snout, pig’s vagina and vomit fruit.

Yummy, right?

They may have had a victorious win, but poor Shane suffered for three days after the trial.

Speaking to Ant and Dec about it after his exit, the 56-year-old explained: ‘Do you know about the repercussions after that, was it covered on the show?’

‘We know you had a dodgy belly yeh,’ Ant replied.

‘My stomach for three days, I was a mess,’ Shane continued.

‘I remember walking out one time going to the toilet, whether it was wind or water, excuse me if you’re watching.

‘Then going back to bed and then coming back out 10 minutes later and it was sunshine and I was thinking “What time is it?” I was a mess for three days.’

Last night, AJ Pritchard and Sir Mo Farah were voted off, while Wednesday night’s showdown saw the elimination of opera singer Russell Watson and soap star Jessica Plummer.

On Tuesday journalist Victoria Derbyshire and soap star Beverley Callard were both booted from the camp.

Sunday night’s episode saw West End star Ruthie Henshall leave the series, while Paralympian Hollie Arnold was voted out last week.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs daily at 9pm on ITV.
