Tensions have been brewing between the two campmates over the past few days after the former Strictly Come Dancing professional made a dig at and the EastEnders actor’s cleaning skills as the washer upper.
The castle duties were reassigned on yesterday’s show, with AJ replacing Shane, and making light of the switch-up, Shane threw his dirty dishes on the floor after he’d eaten – prompting AJ to serve some major side-eye.
Shane’s actions threw social media into a frenzy, with some claiming he was ‘bullying’ AJ.
Hitting back at the uproar, his son, Shane Jr, responded to one tweet with laughing emojis and wrote: ‘bullying wtf is wrong with people.’
In another post, he questioned whether I’m A Celebrity bosses were editing the show to exaggreate tensions between the two contestants.
‘I know it’s a tv show but ur playing with peoples lives man,’ he penned.
‘ If their really is tension then I’m all for it. Or are you editing to cause tension ? That’s what I can’t agree with. I know it’s telly but theirs vile comments being thrown around and it’s not fair.’ (sic)
Speaking about the incident in a video shared on his Instagram page, Shane Jr insisted his dad throwing the mess tin was a ‘joke’ and that there probably isn’t any beef between the pair at all.
I feel a bit sorry for my dad because I know a lot of people don’t like him, but I know a lot of people love him so I think he’s worried people are voting for him because he’s being a kn*b.
‘Do you know what the funny thing is? There probably isn’t anything between him and AJ. It’s mad because we’re all seeing a tiny little look in a 24 hour day. AJ probably would batter my dad.
‘That little look that AJ gave him, I’m not going to make a big deal out of it. I can’t be bothered because I’ll just be in the papers tomorrow sl*gging people off. It was a joke and then he put it in the bucket. F**k me, get over it.’
At the end of last night’s show, it was revealed AJ and Shane have been voted by the public to participate in tonight’s trial.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs tonight at 9pm on ITV.
