I’m A Celebrity 2020: Sir Mo Farah becomes EastEnders’ Phil Mitchell once again – and it’s priceless

Sir Mo Farah released his inner Phil Mitchell once again in tonight’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! – and it was completely priceless.

After giving Steve McFadden a run for his money during yesterday’s episode, the Olympic legend put on his acting shoes for a second time and improvised another scene alongside Alfie Moon star Shane Richie.

This time around, Mo grabbed Shane by the throat as he attempted to threaten him.

‘We’re going to melt them down and make some new earrings for Bat Putcher,’ Mo warned, in the least threatening tone.

‘Bat or Pat?’ asked Shane.

‘Pat Butcher,’ Mo replied, and the pair fell about laughing.

Shane was in bits over the scene and as he sat in the Telegraph, he reflected: ‘My LOL moment is Mo Farah being Phil Mitchell.

‘If Steve McFadden is watching, Steve, you’ve got someone on your tails here mate. He could be a new Mitchell brother coming in…watch out.’

Viewers were also in stitches over the masterclass, with one writing: ‘Watching Mo being Phil Mitchell in an EastEnders skit with Shane Richie – priceless.’

Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Mo being Phil Mitchell is literally one of my highlights of this serious, I’m in actual tears.’

Meanwhile, others called for soap bosses to recast Phil.

‘Okay, hear me out. Mo farah replaces Phil Mitchell on Eastenders for one episode. 2020 will be restored,’ one demanded.

Luckily for soap fans, EastEnders writer Natalie Mitchell is keen for Mo to make a guest appearance, so let’s watch this space.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tomorrow at 9pm on ITV.
