I’m A Celebrity 2020: Vernon Kay feels he’s made daughters proud over camp stint

Vernon Kay revealed he believes that he has made his daughters proud through his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! stint.

The 46-year-old – who shares daughters Phoebe and Amber with Tess Daly – ended this year’s series in third place.

He left Giovanna Fletcher and Jordan North battling it out for the jungle crown.

Upon his exit, host Declan Donnelly said that Vernon had admitted beforehand that he just wanted to make his daughters proud.

When asked if he thought that he had done this, the finalist said: ‘I do [think so], third place for me is more than my expectations.

‘It’s been phenomenal.’

Despite all the rank trials, hundreds of bugs and suffering ‘dips’ in mood, Vernon has no regrets about taking part in the show, insisting he has loved every second of it.

‘It was everything and more, it really was everything and more,’ he continued.

‘If anyone in the future gets asked to do it, don’t even hesitate.

‘I feel absolutely ecstatic. I’m over the moon to get third place, I really am because it has been an awesome camp.

‘He’d been that guy who propped up the morale in camp, he’d always been there with a joke, and all that means something when you’re in there,’ he added.

‘We’ve had a lot of dips, and to be lifted up by him playing that role has been brilliant.’

A definite camp bromance.
