I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers were left fuming over Shane Richie’s trial, branding it ‘easy’.

The EastEnders star, 56, smashed the Cruel Jewels task on Tuesday after he was forced to crawl around surrounded by 200 spiders – and came away with all 12 stars.

His campmates were thrilled by the news, which came at the end of a tense few days in Gwrych Castle.

However, fans weren’t too impressed by the scenes, claiming that he got off lightly compared to AJ Pritchard and Jessica Plummer’s trial the previous night – as they had to search for stars in the pitch black.

Flocking to Twitter, a follower commented: ‘Shane’s challenge is a cake walk compared to AJ and Jess’ last night. I’m outraged. #ImACeleb.’

Branding it ‘unfair’, another agreed: ‘Shane’s trial is sooo much easier than the trial Jessica and AJ had to do yesterday!’

‘This trial seems so much easier then yesterdays, poor Jess and AJ getting slated for one of the hardesr challenges and all Shane has to do is crawl #ImACeleb [sic],’ a fan penned.

One replied: ‘Why is Shane’s trial literally p**s easy compared to AJ and Jessica’s #ImACeleb.’

A Twitter user suggested: ‘If AJ and Jessica had this one I think they would have done just as well as Shane! He’s going to gloat now about this #ImACeleb #imacelebrity.’

Although viewers branded it an ‘easy’ task, Shane was still forced to crawl around and face hundreds of spiders, as well as cockroaches, pythons, maggots and snakes.

Not ideal.

At one point, he used his tongue to free two stars in the 12-minute time limit.

Speaking about the mood in camp, the Alfie Moon actor confessed things had become quite ‘tense’ with his co-stars.

‘The last 48 hours,’ he told hosts Ant and Dec. ‘I think tonight’s an important trial for the morale.

‘If I can go back and just go, “guys, we got 12 stars”, it’s about the morale.’

Well, he nailed it.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues daily, at 9pm, on ITV.
