Ant and Dec have left I’m A Celebrity fans in stitches with their shady Boris Johnson comments.

The pair are known for giving the Prime Minister a little shout-out with their ‘Evening Prime Minister’ catchphrase, but the comments seemed rather less complimentary than usual.

Introducing the show, the pair teased that a new camp leader would be elected.

Describing the role, the Geordie duo explained that ‘they look dishevelled, give easy jobs to their mates & make it up as they go along,’ before giving us an ‘Evening Prime Minister’.

The pair didn’t stop there, with them going on to speak about the Castle ‘lords’.’How do you get to become a Lord?’ Dec asked, with Ant replying: ‘Donate £3m to the Conservative Party?’Dec hit us with another ‘Evening Prime Minister!’ then pointing to Ant and adding: ‘He’s coming for you, tonight!’

Viewers couldn’t resist commenting, with one writing on Twitter: ‘Ant & Dec are the laugh I need tonight. Evening Prime Minister.’

One more added: ‘I’m still laughing at Dec saying evening prime minister.’

It’s not the first time the pair have made a dig at the Prime Minister, with them previously mocking Mr Johnson for stumbling through a speech at the Confederation of British Industry.

Appearing to lose his place in his notes, Mr Johnson repeatedly said: ‘Forgive me’.

During a recent episode, Dec described a cake which the campmates were eating as a ‘galaxy of formidable flavours’, to which Ant asked: ‘Where did we get it?’

Dec replied: ‘I’ve got it written down somewhere,’ before pretending to fumble around his own sheets of paper and impersonating Mr Johnson’s voice while telling viewers: ‘Ooh, er, forgive me’.

The hilarious moment went down a treat with viewers, who applauded the presenters for the cheeky jibe.

Live episodes of I’m A Celebrity are back on TV after the show faced a rocky week when Wales was battered by Storm Arwen.

The production base had to be repaired, with the celebs being evacuated out of the castle. However, live episodes returned on Tuesday.

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here returns Thursday at 9pm on ITV.
