Beverley Callard has revealed the biggest piece of advice she would give to the stars entering Gwrych Castle for I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2021, recalling how she coped with the ‘horrific’ cold.
People across the nation are eagerly waiting to find out who’s going to be taking on the Bushtucker Trials on the new series of I’m A Celeb, with individuals including Richard Madeley, Frankie Bridge and Louise Minchin rumoured to be on the show.
Coronation Street star Beverley took part last year, becoming the third celebrity to be voted out of the castle alongside Victoria Derbyshire after 16 days.
On Tuesday’s edition of Lorraine, the actor spoke to Lorraine Kelly via video chat as she shed light on the words of wisdom she would give to this year’s line-up.
While Beverley has come away from the programme with strong friendships – joining radio presenter on a new series called Beverley and Jordan: Destination Wedding – she said that in her experience, one of the worst aspects of I’m A Celeb was the freezing temperatures.
‘I hated the cold. Really – the bedroom was -1° and it was horrific,’ she said.
Nonetheless, while she said she would be ‘50:50’ if ever asked to return, she said that the entire 2020 cast is in agreement over one thing.
‘We’ve all been talking, the 12 of us from last year, have all been talking saying, “We are extremely jealous of anybody who’s going in”,’ she said.
When asked by Lorraine what piece of advice she would give the contestants, she responded: ‘Take the thickest knickers you can find. You will be freezing.’
Laughing, Lorraine replied: ‘Thick knickers, and this applies both to boys and girls,’ to which Beverley said: ‘Almost definitely.’
During her appearance on Lorraine, Beverley also shared a clip from her show with Jordan, revealing the moment they received matching tattoos.
While the Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps star claimed she didn’t feel any pain, she described Jordan as a ‘wuss’ as he struggled while being inked.
I’m A Celebrity is due to return this year on ITV.
