I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2021 is set to be an entertaining ride, with viewers intrigued to see how the line-up including Richard Madeley, Arlene Phillips, Louise Minchin and Danny Miller will fare when they start living in Gwrych Castle together.

Over the course of the almost 20-year-old show, the ITV programme has delivered some utterly iconic moments that fans still talk about to this day.

Who can forget when Gillian McKeith fainted when faced with the prospect of another Bushtucker Trial, or when Stacey Solomon pelted Dom Jolly with a stone in her attempt at alerting him to their secret mission?

The series has delivered some unexpected gems over the years, and we’re hoping it’ll very much be the same as Ant and Dec welcome the new cohort for several weeks of gruesome challenges, freezing conditions and heartwarming chats by the campfire.

From Amir Khan’s strawberry scandal to Gemma Collins’ swift exit, here are some of the most unforgettable moments ever to happen on I’m A Celeb.

Amir Khan in strawberrygate

In the series, one of the top priorities for the stars is ensuring that their fellow campmates are fed when they take part in challenges.

In 2017, boxer Amir committed the ultimate crime when he encouraged broadcaster Iain Lee to join him in eating the strawberries and cream they’d won in the Dingo Dollar Challenge.

Their plan was to go back to camp and tell the other stars that they’d actually answered the question wrong and not won any food to eat.

However, as anyone could have predicted from a mile away, the truth came spilling out in an extremely awkward fashion.

Gillian McKeith’s fainting spell

Over a decade ago in 2010, former You Are What You Eat host Gillian was informed by Ant and Dec on I’m A Celeb that she had been voted by the public to take part in yet another Bushtucker Trial, this time being one that would be filmed live.

The minute Gillian realised she’d been nominated for the task, she looked pale as a sheet, covering her face as she walked meekly over to the presenters.

She immediately told them that she didn’t feel well before dropping to the ground, appearing to faint as medical assistance arrived.

Last year, Ant admitted it was ‘a very bizarre moment in our TV career’ as he and Dec watched the clip back.

Fatima Whitbread’s unwelcome visitor up her nose

In 2011, former British javelin thrower Fatima finished in third place on the 11th series of I’m A Celeb.

However, one of her most memorable moments was during a trial, when a cockroach crawled all the way inside her nose.

The athlete ended up needing help to retrieve the bug from inside her nose, recalling last year that it was ‘very uncomfortable and very unsettling’.

However, she added that she ended up keeping the cockroach, which she dubbed ‘LB’ to stand for ‘little bastard’.

Joey Essex learns an important lesson

On I’m A Celeb, you learn all sorts of things inside the camp, from how to make a campfire to whether you’ve got what it takes to push yourself to the limit mentally and physically.

The Only Way Is Essex star Joey Essex also took home a valuable lesson, when model Amy Willterton taught him how to tell the time.

You never know what you’re going to get on I’m A Celeb!

Shaun Ryder keeps his cool despite snake bite

Many viewers can’t imagine the terror of having to stick their hands inside boxes with all sorts of creatures while taking part in challenges.

When Shaun Ryder did so during a trial in 2010, fans were shocked when a snake suddenly bit into his hand.

However, in true Shaun fashion, the Happy Mondays lead singer kept his cool, swearing at the snake as it continued to hold its grip.

Gemma Collins exits after just 72 hours

Usually, celebrities last at least a few weeks in the I’m A Celeb camp before the eliminations begin.

However, in one of the most memorable moments in the history of the show, in 2014, Towie star Gemma left after just 72 hours, shouting the immortal words ‘I’m a celebrity, get me out of here’ as she declared that she’d had enough.

‘I have to start living my life the way I want to live it, and this is not it,’ she said.

While she may not have lasted long in camp, the reality star certainly left an impression.

Steve Davis goes has a splash before trial begins

In 2015, snooker star Steve Davis was incredibly upbeat as he arrived for a Bushtucker Trial… so much so that he ended up falling into the water by mistake before it had even begun.

Ant and Dec burst into laughter as Steve tumbled into the water, as Ant exclaimed: ‘Steve! We haven’t even started yet!’

‘That was more slippery than I thought!’ Steve said as he held onto a rope to get himself out of the water, soaked through as the hosts cackled.

‘I should have warmed up on dry land,’ he added, his cheerful demeanour still intact.

Stacey Solomon’s impeccable stone-throwing technique

Loose Women star Stacey delivered a masterclass in the art of subtlety when she was on the show in 2010, as she embarked on a secret mission.

The mission involved working with comedian Dom, with Stacey trying to get his attention so that he’d join her in the Bush Telegraph.

Dom appeared to forget about the mission at hand, deciding to rest in a hammock while the former X Factor singer attempted to sneak him away from the rest of the camp.

So she did what anyone with good sense would do – threw a stone at him, leaving Dom in a state of perplexity as he tried to figure out if an insect had landed on his face in utterly hilarious scenes.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2021 launches tonight at 9pm on ITV.
