I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here is reportedly returning to Wales in 2021 as plans to film in Australia had been ‘cancelled at the last minute’.
As The Mirror reports, the programme will happen in Gwrych Castle, Abergele for the second year in a row after the logistics concerned in moving the show again Down Under proved ‘too tricky’.
The show’s production crew have been working exhaustingly on securing a move again to Australia after altering things up in the course of the pandemic, however celebrities look to be staying in Britain in the intervening time.
A source stated: ‘The logistics involved in attempting to get the whole production workforce plus celebrities and presenters and all of the families to the opposite side of the world amid the continued Covid travel restrictions has simply proved too troublesome this year.
‘The show will be in Wales again and it will be brilliant, just like last year. There is a lot of humour involved in making I’m a Celebrity from a spooky castle at a dark, damp time of year on the Welsh coast. It can be a hoot.’
It comes as Australia continues to indicate warning in reopening its borders. The nation’s treasurer Josh Frydenberg beforehand predicted within the budget that journey restrictions can be in place till no less than halfway through next year.

The budget made clear that ‘international travel is expected to remain low through to mid-2022, after which a gradual recovery in tourism is assumed to occur’.

I’m A Celebrity presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly previously revealed conversations surrounding the 2021 series of I’m A Celebrity had been still ‘up in the air’ – and stated they wouldn’t mind at all returning to Wales once more this year.
‘People are having conversations with Australia to see if they’ll allow us in, and to see if that’s going to work,’ Dec stated.
‘If not, we’ve got a stunning alternative to return to Wales, which we had a good time there,’ Dec added.
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is set to return to ITV later this year.
