I’m A Celebrity’s Jordan North has raised £20,000 for charity and doesn’t even know it

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! finalist Jordan North has helped raise more than £20,000 for charity alongside his beloved football team Burnley FC – without even realising.

The Radio One DJ has made no secret of his support for his beloved football club while in the castle, declaring home ground Turf Moor his ‘Happy Place’ amid screams in the Bushtucker Trials.

He even brought in the team’s colour scarf as his luxury item.

Well, Burnley FC took notice, and after making T-shirts in his honour proudly stating ‘Happy Place, Happy Place, Turf Moor’, the team started raising money in Jordan’s name.

And it paid off massively, with William Hanson, Jordan’s Help! I Sexted My Boss podcast co-host, revealing his friend of more than a decade is about to be floored by what’s been achieved.

Speaking to Metro.co.uk, William told us: ‘Burnley is not just behind him as a football club, but as a town as well. I’ve got my Happy Place Turf Moor T-shirt, which has arrived and I shall wearing tonight.

‘They’ve raised over £20,000, and Jordan, of anything that has happened over the last three weeks, that is the number one thing that [will shock] him.

‘He’ll be emotional to know that. He doesn’t know that any of this has gone on, and he has inadvertently, with two words shouted in desperation as a snake crawled across his leg, raised over 20,000 pounds for a charity!’

‘It’s iconic,’ Will continued. ‘I can see it next year on the programme when some other celebrity is doing something, they too will probably scream “happy place”.’

‘I think it’s entered the zeitgeist as a phrase that we can all go to,’ William concluded.

‘And Gosh, haven’t we all been going to our own respective happy places over 2020?!’

What has Burnley FC said about I’m A Celebrity supporter Jordan North?

When approached by Metro.co.uk, a representative for Burnley FC added: ‘We are proud of Jordan’s efforts on the show, and we are sure he will be blown away, not only the reaction in Burnley, but also the huge amounts he has helped raise for charity – without even knowing!

‘We look forward to welcoming Jordan back to his happy place in the near future, hopefully along with many other supporters.’

The T-shirts are still available to buy on the club’s website, and money raised from sales will go towards a number of charities including Pendleside Hospice, of which Jordan is an ambassador.

While that is one hell of a win under his belt, Jordan will find out tonight if he is being crowned King or Queen of the Castle on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!.

After starting the show with the odds against him, he is now favourite to win the show, in a tiebreak at the bookies with Giovanna Fletcher.

But with the odds so tight, there is still a chance that Vernon Kay could pip them both to the post.

Vote lines are now open via the app, and will close during tonight’s show, after which Ant and Dec will declare the winner.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
