Influencer Rianne Meijer has gone viral after claiming that a photo she posted online of her and her boyfriend was used in a Chinese TV show, but with her face edited out.

In a video posted on Instagram and TikTok, Dutch social media blogger Rianne – who has 1.5m Instagram followers – shared a clip from a TV series called Summer Again, which came out on Chinese streaming platform iQiri this summer.

Rianne first showed a photo of herself with her boyfriend that she shared on Instagram on Valentine’s Day a couple of years ago, before revealing that the same picture was apparently used in the series.

However, in the clip, it appeared that while her boyfriend was still visible in the image, her face had been edited out and replaced with someone else.

As Rianne reacted to the clip of her photo supposedly being used on the programme, she covered her mouth, stifling her shocked laughter.

‘I mean, they look good together. I don’t know, it’s fine!’ she remarked.

Rianne’s video has since accumulated 3.7m views on TikTok, where she has 94.6K followers.

Several Instagram users expressed their astonishment over her discovery, with one saying: ‘She STOLE your photo AND your boyfriend.’

‘I wouldn’t know what emotion to pick,’ someone else commented, while another wrote: ‘We need more information! How did you find that? Are you going to contact them? Or are you actually happy they “stole” your picture? I mean it is funny though but still your picture.’

The original picture, which has over 22K likes, was originally shared by Rianne on Instagram on February 14 2019 with the caption: ‘Happy valentines day from probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen.’

Rianne is now engaged to her partner, Dr Roy Atiya, who has 45.5K followers on Instagram.

According to Insider, Rianne wrote in a comment on TikTok that the ‘crew of the show’ apologised to her, saying: ‘They are so sweet and this gave us a good laugh.’

The influencer also reportedly said in a comment that she learnt that her photo had been used because a ‘girl who was watching the show and recognised the picture’ sent her a private message on Instagram about it.
