Jack Whitehall makes cheeky swipe at ‘yelling’ Piers Morgan to Susanna Reid on Good Morning Britain

Jack Whitehall couldn’t resist a cheeky swipe at Piers Morgan during an appearance on today’s Good Morning Britain.

The comedian, who is hosting the Brit Awards again this year, joked that he much preferred seeing Andi Peters in the segment immediately before him.

Being introduced to the show via videolink by Susanna Reid and Adil Ray – who is replacing Piers after the host quit GMB – Jack said: ‘What I first want to explain to you about is thank you so much for that lead-in.

‘Having Andi Peters giving away a caravan on the set of Bridgerton – that’s the way to start my day.

‘Last time I was on I had five minutes of Piers shouting at Ann Widdecombe.’

‘That was definitely a much nicer way to start my day with Andi Peters,’ he laughed.

‘Things have changed,’ Adil quickly remarked, with Susanna, who presented with Piers for five years, laughing alongside him.

Piers quit Good Morning Britain in March Piers refusing to apologise for his comments made about Meghan Markle’s mental heath.

Following her interview with Oprah Winfrey, Piers declared that he ‘didn’t believe a word that she said’ after the Duchess of Sussex opened up about having suicidal thoughts which she claimed were ignored by the Royal Family.

She also claimed a senior Royal family member was ‘fearful of baby Archie’s skin colour’.

Jack is currently filming the latest season of his Netflix series Travels With My Father with his dad Michael.

He is also due to host the Brits on May 11 – the fourth time he has fronted the music ceremony.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
