Jeremy Clarkson has landed himself a new project with an end of year one-off special similar to Charlie Brooker’s Screen Wipe.
It’s Clarkson On TV will air on ITV later this year, recapping 2020s most iconic moments from TV and pop culture.
Speaking about the launch, ITV boss Kevin Lygo described the show as ‘an honest, no-holds-barred review of 2020 through the medium of telling the big stories, the headline grabbing moments, and the hilarious unsung TV heroes, plus all the bizarre bits in between.’
The sarcastic presenter’s acidic wit will be on full display as he looks through not just the UK’s, but the world’s most bonkers telly moments.
He’s also going to be introduced to the beauty that is Love Is Blind and Selling Sunset, it’s been confirmed… and we can’t wait to see what he thinks of it.
The concept is similar to that of Charlie Brooker’s Screen Wipe, which had an annual review on the BBC that was last seen in 2018.
However, following the pandemic this year, Charlie brought back the satirical favourite for a one-off Antiviral Wipe special, mocking the latest developments in his unique way.
The special, which aired in May, saw fans demand the Black Mirror creator return to their screens permanently, but he has yet to respond to that wish
Clarkson’s latest telly venture will end a busy year for the presenter, who has been juggling Who Wants To Be A Millionaire hosting duties with The Grand Tour filming.
He has also been busy building a farm from scratch, for a new Amazon series tentatively titled I Bought A Farm.
While filming was disrupted due to the pandemic, Clarkson has successfully built a shop and started peddling his wares created on site of his Cotswolds land – including a candle that ‘smells like his b*****ks’.
