Carole Baskin is eagerly anticipating John Cameron Mitchell and Kate McKinnon’s Tiger King television drama following the release of the first look trailer.

Joe vs Carole is the upcoming eight-part Peacock series based on the real-life events of Carole and Joe Exotic’s rivalry and their two big cat businesses.

The show is slated to give viewers a chance to see some of TV’s most recognisable faces take on the roles of some of the world’s most infamous true characters and is set to launch on Sky and Now on March 4.

Besides John and Kate starring as the lead characters, Kyle McLaughlin has been cast as Carole’s husband Howard Baskin, and Carole will be tuning in.

‘My husband and I look forward to seeing Kate McKinnon and Kyle McLaughlin’s portrayal of us, even though we expect it will be a parody based on the trailer,’ Carole told ‘Both are talented actors and I expect Joe vs Carole will be a lot more entertaining than the situation was in real life.

‘As with Netflix’s Tiger King, Murder, Mayhem and Madness and Wondery’s Joe Exotic, Over My Dead Body and all of the other spinoffs, none of these programmes created for entertainment value really get at the main issues of big cat and cub abuse and the imminent extinction of big cats due to cub petting, like we do in Discovery+ Carole Baskin’s Cage Fight.

‘My fear is that in the next five years, while people are morbidly obsessed the plight of my former husband, Don Lewis, we will have reached the point of no return for the planet by failing to safeguard the world’s most iconic species.’

Looks like Carole will definitely be giving this one a watch.

Based on the original podcast, Joe Vs Carole also stars Brian Van Holt as John Reinke, Sam Keeley as John Finlay, Nat Wolff as Travis Maldonado, Marlo Kelly as Jamie Murdock, William Fichtner as Rick Kirkham, Dean Winters as Jeff Lowe and David Wenham as Don Lewis.

Joe Vs Carole will be released on March 4 on Peacock, Sky, and NOW TV.
