Joel Dommett has said that an unfortunate situation forced him to reshoot one of Survivor’s opening scenes.
The Masked Singer presenter, 38, will star in the BBC revival of the classic show, which premieres on Saturday night.
It will put 18 participants through rigorous physical and psychological trials in order to find the lone survivor and earn £100,000.
And, while the candidates had no clothing or toothbrushes to change into, it was Joel who needed a new pair of trousers… after weeing on himself.
Appearing on Friday’s This Morning with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, Joel revealed: ‘Just before I climbed up onto the big ship, I just had a little wee off the side of the boat.
‘Just a little wee, because I thought, I’m on telly, I’ll have a little wee.’
He went on: ‘I was quite quick to put it back in, because we’re on telly, we’re in a bit of a rush.
‘I get up the ladder, and I’m like “Welcome to Survivor!” not knowing I’ve got a little wet patch going on.’
As Alison and Dermot were left absolutely stunned over the unfortunate blunder, Joel continued: ‘Camel trousers, nightmare for the camel trouser!’
‘We don’t see it though, do we, do we see it?!’ Alison probed.
‘I had to reshoot that little bit of me coming up on the boat,’ Joel confessed.
‘An awkward conversation with your director,’ Dermot laughed.
The BBC released a dramatic clip showcasing the players going head to head ahead of the Survivor premiere tomorrow.
In it, Joel warns: ‘This is the most physically demanding and emotionally draining game on television.’
At first glance, participants are seen slamming each other to the ground, battling underwater, and carrying heavy weights on their backs.
Meanwhile, emotions are running high around their makeshift camp, prompting one to inquire, ‘Is there anyone I should be wary of?’
Joel adds in the BBC clip: ‘Outwit, outweigh, outlast. Who gets to stay and who gets to go?’
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1, Survivor launches on BBC One and iPlayer tomorrow at 8.25pm.
