When Channing Tatum appeared on The Graham Norton Show, Johannes Radebe and Dawn French couldn’t help but get their flirt on with the Magic Mike star – and who can blame them?!
Last night’s programme on BBC One was jampacked with stars, as Spider-Man: No Way Home actor Andrew Garfield, comedian Rob Beckett and Masked Singer UK winner Natalie Imbruglia also stopped by.
Channing, 14, was the only guest not in the studio, speaking to Graham Norton via video chat.
However, his presence was still clearly felt, as Strictly Come Dancing’s Johannes, 34, became bashful as he revealed the crush he has on the actor.
After the talk show host spoke to Channing about Magic Mike’s Last Dance, the third film in the franchise, he remarked that Johannes could be in it, asking the professional dancer: ‘Have you studied Magic Mike?’
‘Well I was never allowed to,’ he replied, as Channing cocked his head looking confused.
Johannes continued, explaining that he has had to ‘hide’ because of how much he fancies the Step Up star.
‘I say that… looking at him now, and I’m just thinking, you know? How I’ve had to hide because I fancied him so much,’ he said, concealing his face with his hands as the American actor laughed.
‘I think Channing is lovely!’ he added, grinning from ear to ear.
Dawn, 64, then turned to Channing, asking a long-winded question that resulted in an unexpected marriage proposal.
‘May I ask something? Hello Tanning Chatum,’ she said, seemingly saying his name wrong on purpose.
‘I’m Dawn French. Hello, you wouldn’t know me, I’m from the 80s and I’m a goer.’
‘We like goers here at Magic Mike,’ he responded in good spirits.
The French and Saunders star continued, going into a spiel as she said: ‘I just want to say after these last couple of years we’ve had where we’ve all been locked in, it’s been so dim and grim, do you feel like you should take more risks and maybe be a bit more spontaneous and just say yes to things in life without even really thinking about it? Like if I asked you something now, would you say, “Yes Dawn, I will!”’
Bursting into laughter and realising he was probably in for a big surprise, Channing replied: ‘You know I feel like I’m walking into something here, but yes Dawn, I will, you’re a goer, let’s go.’
‘Well I have to tell you then Tanning Chatum, that you just agreed to marry my daughter who adores you,’ she revealed. Sneaky tactic there Dawn!
However, it seems that Channing it taken already, amid reports that he’s in a relationship with Batman star Zoe Kravitz.
Dawn shares her daughter, Billie Henry, with her ex-husband Lenny Henry, who she married in 1984 and divorced in 2010.
She has been married to charity executive Mark Bignell since 2013.
The Graham Norton Show returns on Friday at 10.35pm on BBC One.
