Justin Bieber will perform on Comic Relief 2021 later this week as he appears on British TV for the first time in five years.
The Hold On hitmaker is set to sing his new single on the Friday (March 19) to celebrate Red Nose Day by raising money to support people in the UK and around the world, and help tackle hunger, homelessness, domestic abuse and mental health stigma.
He said: ‘I’m looking forward to performing on Comic Relief this Friday and being a part of such a great night for a charitable cause. I hope everyone enjoys the show!’
The musical performances have been revealed for the night of TV with just four days to go.
Gabrielle will sing Smile, while internet sensations The Marsh Family will treat viewers to their rendition of Total Eclipse of the Heart.
There will also be a special appearance from the cast of Back To The Future: The Musical as they perform Power of Love and Put Your Mind To It.
Gabrielle added: ‘I am so pleased to be a part of this year’s Comic Relief, it’s an honour to support their phenomenal work, this year more than ever.’
Following on from the main show, The Great Comic Relief Prizeathon also has some big acts lined up.
Rag ‘n’ Bone Man will be on hand to deliver his hit single All I Ever Wanted, while Joel Corry and RAYE are set to perform Bed.
Meanwhile, Justin recently revealed he wants to use his fame and his music to ‘inspire’ other people after owning up to his past mistakes.
He told Billboard: ‘There was a time where I really did have my identity wrapped up in my career, but I really do have an overflow of feeling like my purpose is to use my music to inspire…
‘I just want to be somebody who can say, “Look, I did some things that I’m not too proud of, but I took a look in the mirror and decided to make some changes, and you can too.” ‘
Viewers can catch all of these performances on Comic Relief 2021’s night of TV on BBC One at 7pm, followed by The Great Comic Relief Prizeathon at 10:45pm on BBC One.
