If the season 2 finale of The Flight Attendant left you wanting more, you might find yourself feeling disappointed in the near future.

The HBO Max comedy thriller finished up its latest season last week and lead star Kaley Cuoco has indicated that she thinks that might well be enough.

‘It’s going to take a lot of thought to make sure if we go back that it’s better than the last two, which is very hard to do,’ she said in an interview with

‘There’s definitely interest in doing a third season [but] I think for me, at this moment, the plane has landed,’ she added.

The Big Bang Theory actress, 36, who played Penny on the CBS sitcom for 12 years, stars in The Flight Attendant as main character Cassie Bowden.

Cassie wakes up one morning to discover that a plane passenger she spent the night with has been killed while in bed next to her.

Under investigation for the murder, she sets out to clear her name.

Commenting on the season 2 finale, Kaley said it simultaneously indicated that the show ‘could definitely be done’ while it also could ‘definitely [be] open to continuing’.

‘I think the writers and the team did a really beautiful job in tying it up in a pretty bow,’ she said.

‘But if you had to open the bow, it would be okay.’

‘Some of my favourite shows on TV take some time to come back, and then I get very excited about a new season. I want to make sure that the fans are excited and that we’re not pushing it too hard.’

If the show is to continue, Kaley added that she wants any new episodes to focus on her character’s ‘struggles’ with addiction and substance abuse. However, she maintained that she ‘[doesn’t] know’ what shape, if any, future episodes will take.

The comedy drama series proved to be a hit with critics and was nominated for five Emmy Awards in 2021, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series.

The Flight Attendant is available to stream on Sky Go and NOW TV.
