Kaley Cuoco has revealed she had to learn how to film a ‘true’ sex scene in her new show, The Flight Attendant.

The Big Bang Theory star previously featured in slightly intimate scenes during her time as Penny on the hit sitcom, but the actress has admitted she had to step out of her comfort zone for her new HBO Max series.

Kaley, 34, stars as title character Cassie Bowden in the comedic thriller which sees her dream date with businessman Alex (Michiel Huisman) turn into a murder mystery nightmare.

The first episode of the series sees the star and Game of Thrones actor Michiel get intimate during a night out in Bangkok.

Speaking about the scene, Kaley told USA Today: ‘Network 8 o’clock TV is a little different than HBO Max all hours of the night. I had scenes like that on Big Bang, but this was like a true sex scene.

‘I told Michiel, “I’ve never done this before. Have you done it before?” He goes, “Yeah, like 30, 40 times.” And I was like, “WHAT?”‘

The actress explained how she tried to maintain decorum in between takes by contorting herself above her co-star, but it just made feeling the scenes less realistic.

She continued: ‘So when they called action, I still wasn’t really giving my all. Michiel finally goes, “It looks like you’re hovering over a public toilet. What are you doing?”

‘I’m like, “I don’t know what I’m doing.” So he had to awkwardly teach me how to have fake sex.’

The 8 Simple Rules star joked that her dramatic new series was like a ‘coming-out party’ as viewers will get to see her flex more than just her comedy muscles as an actress.

She told this publication: ‘This is definitely my coming-out party in the sense of showing everyone I can do something other than comedy.

The Flight Attendant premieres the first three episodes this Thanksgiving, November 26, on HBO Max.
