Kaley Cuoco has revealed that she had some anxiety at working on her follow up to The Big Bang Theory, The Flight Attendant.
The Flight Attendant has been an unmitigated success for Cuoco. She stars and is an executive producer on the series has recently been nominated for a slew of awards from The Golden Globes to the the SAGs.
However, the actress wasn’t always so sure the show would be such a big hit.
Speaking to TVLine, she explained her trepidation about the comedy when in the planning phases. When asked if she expected any awards, Cuoco said: ‘No.’
‘All that went through my mind for the past three-and-a-half years since I optioned this book is, “Oh my God, am I making a mistake? Are people going to hate this? Are they going to love it? Oh God, this is so bad, what am I doing? Why am I doing this?”‘
The Flight Attendant was the first series from her production company Yes, Norman.
‘Being an EP now, you just know way too much, you see all the struggle. As an actor, I get to wake up and walk in, you do your job and then you leave, and you see the end product,’ Cuoco continued.
‘But learning the road to the end product, it actually makes this even sweeter, because you know how hard the work is, and how much of a huge team effort it takes.’
Cuoco also went on to reveal that writing on the second season is still very early on. When asked what she knew about the next chapter, she said: ‘God, I know nothing. We just literally got our writers’ room together, so as far as story, there’s nothing there quite yet.’
However, it seems the idea that Cassie is going to be trying to take on her drinking habits, saying: ‘As the emotional arc with Cassie, she is going to be trying to live a sober life. But as we know, she’s very impatient, so she thinks that things are going to be super-easy, that this is going to be no big deal’
Recently, Cuoco has also expressed that she can’t wait to step back into the shoes of Cassie and go ballistic once again.
However, it seems writing is still in the early stages, so fans will likely have a bit of a wait on their hands.
