Karl Urban leaves ‘Covid free New Zealand’ to film The Boys season 3

Karl Urban has revealed he is leaving ‘Covid free New Zealand’ in order to begin filming on The Boys season three.

The actor plays Billy Butcher in the Amazon Prime show, and he’s now looking forward to shooting upcoming episodes in a ‘socially distanced way’.

Karl announced he was leaving his home country behind to begin filming, posting a picture of himself on a plane heading to the set.

The actor wrote: ‘There’s only one thing that’ll get me to leave Covid free NZ @theboystv season 3. Let’s do it!’

‘In a highly tested, PPE, zone controlled, socially distanced way. Stay safe y’all xo,’ he added, reassuring fans.

New Zealand recently lowered its Covid-19 alert level to one, and the country recently hosting the largest outdoor show since the pandemic began.

The Boys’s second season provided some of the most subversive and bombastic TV moments of last year.

Nathan Mitchell, who plays Black Noir on the show, previously told us that season three of The Boys is sure to be even more crazy than what’s come before.

‘I think the nice thing about the show is there’s an upping of the stakes, like the stakes from season one [are] upped in season two and so I think in that same way, we’re gonna raise the stakes again,’ he explained.

The Boys is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video now.
