In one of the most random celebrity interactions imaginable, Kate Beckinsale and Eamonn Holmes had a hilarious exchange on Instagram after the actor shared a Photoshopped picture of the This Morning presenter looking extremely out of character.
During Thursday’s edition of This Morning, Eamonn remarked to Ruth Langsford that he’s close friends with Kate, who’s starred in films including Jolt, Pearl Harbor and Serendipity.
Kate, 48, seemed to confirm her friendship with Eamonn, 61, hours later, posting a photo of herself alongside a friend, with Eamonn’s face superimposed over her pal’s body.
In the original picture, Kate and late designer Nina Kate are both wearing slogan T-shirts that read: ‘F**k you you f**king f**k’, with Kate’s cat visible in the background.
Seeing Eamonn’s face on top of Nina’s body, complete with tattoos on her arms and legs, was definitely an unexpected but incredible image for fans to behold.
‘Eamonn please forgive me,’ jokester Kate wrote in the caption.
In the comments, Eamonn told Kate that she was ‘forgiven’, before adding: ‘Even though anyone who knows me knows those words would never be uttered from my lips.’
‘@eamonnholmes I’m so relieved!’ Kate said in response.
‘If I got a rude letter from you saying now look here that’s a bit bloody much I’d become so unwell.. also shall we get you leggings like this they are kind of a hit.’
Several Instagram users found Kate’s use of Photoshop fantastic, with reality TV star Vicky Pattison describing the image as ‘brilliant’.
‘Keep the Holmes fires burning!’ remarked actor and TV presenter Sanjeev Bhaskar.
‘Seriously what is happening here,’ questioned Nina, who appeared in the original photo on Kate’s Instagram just a few days ago.
‘Big guy suits a leg tattoo to be fair,’ someone else said.
At least Eamonn now knows that if ever he was tempted to get some ink, he could definitely pull it off!
This isn’t the first time Kate and Eamonn have interacted, as last year, Eamonn sent Kate a peculiar message after she posted a video of herself doing stretches to the sound of his voice.
After watching the video in question, Eamonn commented: ‘Kate, what about I’ll come and do it with you next time?’, before adding: ‘No, thought not.’
‘Yes please as long as you don’t feed my dog wotsits,’ Kate replied at the time.
