The X-rated scenes that aired on Good Morning Britain today surprised Susanna Reid and Kate Garraway.
The presenters visited Ben Shephard in the studio, where they learned about two-kilogram young foxes from Hungary.
The species have been relocated to England as part of a breeding plan to keep them from becoming extinct.
The foxes were clearly eager to show off what they do best with their few seconds of television, as the little critters began humping on camera.
While they were hailed ‘the prettiest visitors’ Good Morning Britain has ever seen, the presenters were taken aback by the unfolding circumstances on camera.
‘Hopefully you saw the sweetness there, they’re two boys, hopefully they’ll find love in the next year or so, I’ve been informed that they’re seeking for possible mates in the next year and they’re ready to find love,’ the reporter continued, not realising the cheeky moment had been captured on video.
‘What?!’ Kate could be heard exclaiming from the studio, while the reporter went on to say that their humping was ‘a defence mechanism’.
‘Yes they are here on a breeding programme, so it’s good they are doing what they’re here for,’ Kate added.
‘They’re doing what they do best!’
‘It certainly perked the crew up,’ Ben added, as the foxes humping aired again.
Susanna said: ‘Sam we probably don’t need to see that again at 6.19 in the morning!’
And someone watching at home had the same thought, writing on X: ‘Just woke up to 2 male foxes humping on live TV.’
‘That’s perked everyone up, I think,’ Susanna added, as they tried to move onto the next segment.
‘Excuse me!’ Kate interrupted, with Ben saying: ‘Kate’s furious! It’s not the time for that sort of thing is it Kate Garraway, not on your watch.’
Ahead of presenting the weather forecast, Laura Tobin joked: ‘We either need cooling down or a nice cool shower!’
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV1.
